Commission-10th century Byzantine soldiers

A commission for Evan Schultheis, for his thesis. It's an accurate reconstruction of a centurion and a heavy soldier from 10th century Byzantium.

The centurion is wearing the Maas nasal helmet, with feathers and a lamellar neck guard and the Birka browband; the Mihailovo silvered mail shirt, a round shield and a Galovo type Spathion. He's taking notes in a wax tablet.
The soldier carries a kite shield, a Garabonc Spathion, a composite bow and a pike. His armor consist on a a kaftan-gambeson, a klivanion, spaulders and the Trncina helmet.
